She is quoted as saying, "It wasn�t because of a spouse or a significant other. It wasn�t because a family member pressured them to. It was just because they wanted to make themselves look and feel as good on the outside as they did on the inside.�

This confirms previous research on the topic that many women independently and thoughtfully seek this procedure to look and feel better about themselves, as they may not be pleased with the shape, size or asymmetry of their breasts. The survey was conducted over a period of 2.5 years and surveyed over 100 patients who underwent breast augmentation in her practice. Co-authors of the study include Sarah Shrader, RN, BSN, MHA, and Georgia Panagopoulis, PhD.
